If you have a child in the 6-16 year old age range chances are you have probably heard about this concert series. Featuring family channel favourites and up and coming acts like Brit pop-rock band The Vamps, Becky G, Shane Harte, and The Tide, this is one show that delights fans young and old alike.
My 3 youngest kids (aged 7, 9 and 11) and I had the chance to take in this summer concert series, Presented by Lego Friends, as it hit Edmonton yesterday. The evening started off with a cheer and the screams kept on coming right until the end of the night. Boy did they ever!

Next Step stars Jordan Clark (Giselle) and Lamar Johnson (West) were engaging and entertaining, and the music was fun and clearly right on track for the young crowd judging from the excited banter behind me. Even I got up on my feet a time or two. It was a great show and even though my youngest daughter (7 years old) was ready to head home before the final act I know that she wouldn’t hesitate to go back next year.
My only suggestion as a parent is that you should makes sure you and the kids bring earplugs. The kids and I all found the volume on this show to be a bit overwhelming, and we’ve been to a number of concerts over the past year. The volume not withstanding we ended the evening with smiles on our face, and infected with the joy that is an evening well spent.
