I love baking bread. I love how it smells. I love how it feels to knead, and boy do I love how fresh bread out of the oven tastes. I don’t bake all the time for the family simply because it actually works out cheaper to buy it at the local grocery store. When I do bake the family devours it and 3 loaves are usually gone in one meal.
This is probably my favorite recipe. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Make-Bread-without-a-bread-machine/ It specifies use bread flour but i have had success with all purpose flour. I also have made bun with that recipe just adjusting the cooking time accordingly. I do have a bread machine but only use it to make pizza dough. I just prefer hand kneaded bread.
I keep meaning to try artisan bread but haven’t yet gotten around to it. Have you had any success? I am also looking for a yummy but easy cinnamon roll recipe and would be most grateful if you would link me up! I have brief remembering of seeing a cinnamon mess in a cupcake pan that were definitely drool worthy but lost the link in my last reboot. Probably a good thing for my waist line. LOL.
This is my pancake recipe. I make a special big breakfast every Sunday for the kids and this is the most requested. I cook up a big cookie sheet of bacon under the broiler and viola! Full tummies. I have to triple this to feed my crew, but most of the time I have 4 or 5 left over that cam be frozen and used throughout the week.
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp Sugar or honey (optional)
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp oil (I use olive)
Mix dry ingredients together then add milk, eggs and oil. Mix until combined but lumpy.
Heat skillet, pour batter in smallish scoops onto skillet. Flip once the tops gets little bubbles and the underside is golden brown. Cook the other side until it is golden brown. If I am feeling adventurous I add apple before I flip it the first time or frozen strawberries. Sometimes I even make happy faces cause that’s how I roll :-). I hope you enjoy the recipes Have a great weekend!!
