As you may have heard I have signed on to be a Hamilton Beach Canada Ambassador for the upcoming year. I am so thrilled by this partnership, because aside from being one of the country’s leading distributors of small kitchen appliances Hamilton Beach appliances are fun, colorful, economical and so easy to use. I already have a stash of Hamilton Beach appliances that I use and love and am thrilled to have the chance to try out some new appliances and share my experiences with you.

It’s no secret that I love coffee – really love coffee. It’s why it was a no brainer when faced with the option to try out a Pizza Maker, Breakfast Sandwich Maker or the 5 Cup Personal Brewer from Hamilton Beach that I chose the Personal Brewer. That and the fact that it is a gorgeous red! Making coffee is a ritual for me, but every once in a while I need more than just one cup or something that can keep my coffee warm until I am ready for it. I’m bad at forgetting my coffee until it’s cold and then have to microwave it. The 5 Cup Personal Brewer has been a unique and welcome addition to my coffee brewer collection.

The 5 Cup Personal Brewer makes up to 5 cups of coffee, requires no filters and keeps my coffee hot and fresh up to an hour after I brew it. Brewing coffee is as easy as adding in a few scoops to the reusable mesh filter, a little water and clicking on. I can walk away, get the kids up and out the door and then sit down and get down to my work with a hot cuppa in my hand. Clean up is easy too. I just empty the grounds into the trash, give the filter a quick rinse and put it in the top of my dishwasher. A little hot and soapy water and a bottle brush cleans out the coffee carafe portion of the brewer.

It’s also great for making up small batches of strong coffee perfect for baking or specialty coffees. With St Patrick’s Day just around the corner I thought I’d share my easy and delicious recipe for Irish Coffee that has a mapletastic twist. Stay tuned for a Mocha Cheesecake recipe too.
