Kicking Off Summer Fun with A Little High Speed…Learning?

HotWheels-1

Today is officially the last day of school. While I am thrilled that early mornings, lunches and last minute homework are going to be things of the past, at least for a short while, the thought of keeping the kids brains sharp and occupied over the next two month is in the forefront of my mind. Thank goodness for the Hot Wheels FUNdamentals program.

It can be challenging keeping the younger kids interested in learning over the summer holidays, but add in a toy they love along with creative challenges and sneaking in little learning becomes easy and fun.

The FUNdamentals program is rooted in the belief that play based learning is a great benefit to kids and is a way to keep them stimulated when school is out. Studies have shown that tactile play improves memory and language skills, and can help with academic focus.  Play based learning also teaches kids problem solving skills that they need as they grow up to take on real world challenges.

Teachers and parents can visit http://www.hotwheelsinschool.ca/ to request a FREE FUNdamentals Learning Program Kit for their classrooms or homes. The website provides you with lesson plans and resources that are designed to engage students aged 3 to 7 in fun activities that use the tactile experience of kid-friendly toys. Created by experienced educators, this program is accessible and easy to implement in your classroom, and all lessons meet curriculum expectations.

  • Get free lesson plans that feature Hot Wheels® toys

For added summer fun you can download a 3D Summer Activity Cityscape project. It’s perfect for those rainy days when you are stuck inside, on road trips, or at Grandma’s house. After you are done with it head out to the store with the included $5 discount coupon and pick up some new Hot Wheels so you can create your own amazing cityscape.

It’s also PTPA Approved! That means it’s been tried and tested by a community of parents and they loved it!  To find out more about the FUNdamentals Learning Program or to register visit http://www.hotwheelsinschool.ca/. Also check back with us as we will be utilizing the program over the summer with our youngest two kids and sharing our thoughts here as well as on our social channels.

Have a GREAT summer!!
