My Kids Stink

This post is part of YummyMummyClub.ca‘s Blogger Review Team Sponsorship Program. I received free samples from Proctor and Gamble in order to write this review. This post reflects my personal opinion and was not influenced by the sponsors.

No really they do.  I don’t know what it is, but once kids reach a certain age they lose that new kid smell and “smells like teen spirit” takes over.  For the most part I can keep the stink to a minimum in the house by tossing them in the shower frequently.  In the close confines of the car, especially after a day road tripping and walking, the stench can be enough to send me over the edge.

Now normally I don’t like scented products, but the car is definitely one place I make the exception.  I have tried all sorts of things from essential oils to dryer sheets. I had some success, but nothing that really soaked up the smell.  I ended up getting eau de kid mixed in with essential oils.  I’m not sure what was worse.

When The Yummy Mummy Club asked me if I would be interested in giving the new Febreze CAR Vent Clips a try I had to say yes.  I have been a fan of Febreze since it first came out using it on all sorts of things like my clothing to get rid of the stale cigarette smell post bar hopping (oh the good old days) to getting rid of cat spray smell from a mattress of mine.  I have always liked that Febreze doesn’t just mask odors it actually eliminates them.  With the new Febreze CAR Vent Clips you get up to 30 days of that same awesome odor elimination in a small clip that is perfect for any vehicle.

From Febreze:

“Febreze CAR Vent Clips is the latest Febreze innovation from P&G, designed to eliminate odours and transform the air in a car to keep it fresh for up to 30 days*. Febreze CAR Vent Chips uses a special microporous membrane to deliver a continuous scent. It slowly release scent day after day without becoming too overpowering. And like all Febreze products, CAR Vent Clips don’t only mask unpleasant odours, it actively eliminates them.”

After giving the clips a thorough testing over the past few weeks I have to say they work just as intended.  I kept the Car Vent Clips on low for the most part, because I did find that running them on high, especially with the fan running was just too much for me and did lead to a headache.  If you aren’t as sensitive to smells as I am then this shouldn’t be a problem.   I am thinking that if you have a teen boy, especially in Hockey then the high setting will be perfect for that post game ride home.  I really appreciate the fact that you can adjust it to suit your needs.

The new Febreze Car Vent Clips are something I will definitely keep in my dash.  I really enjoy getting into my car now, it just smells so darn good.  I’m loving the Meadows & Rain scent, and the Linen and Sky scent isn’t bad either (Hubby isn’t a fan – I like it).  Kept at the lowest setting the Febreze Car Vent Clips eliminated the odours in my car, and had a nice fresh scent that wasn’t too overpowering.  Even my kids in the very back of the minivan remarked at how good the car now smells.  Other scents that are available and on my list to try are Midnight Storm, Thai Dragon Fruit, and Hawaiian Aloha.   The Hawaiian Aloha is ranked #1.

The Febreze Car Vent Clips are available air care aisle and auto aisles at most major retailers and will run you between $3.99* for one set and $5.99* for a set of two. *Price is at the sole discretion of the retailer.

So, do your kids stink?
