Tomorrow night the stars will be out in full force to see who takes Oscar home. Once again I haven’t seen most of the nominated films, but that doesn’t keep me from having my favourites.
I think Les Misérables will do well this year. My prediction is that Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman will take home Oscars. Les Misérables also has a good chance of taking home the Oscar for cinematography. I predict Argo will take home the Best Picture award. Other then those films I am at a loss and any predictions I could offer would be little more than guesses.
In honor of Oscar night I came up with some appetizers and even a dessert that is quick, easy and perfect for bringing a bit of class to a celebration at home. Serves 2 -8
What you will need for the appetizers and/or dessert:
- 1 package of Pillsbury Crescent rolls
- cooked chicken or turkey pulled apart into smaller pieces
- frozen raspberries
- a wheel of brie
- semi sweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 375F. Lay out the crescent rolls on parchment paper and pinch together the pre-cut seams so that you can cut out 8 squares.
This is where it gets fun. You can build these any way that you like. I tried them a few different ways. The first two I stacked
- small triangle of brie
- pinch of thyme
- pinch of parsley
- pinch of salt
- pinch of pepper
Two others I stacked the same as above but topped it with a raspberry.
For the desserts I stacked two squares with Frozen raspberries and semi sweet chocolate chips. The other two were filled with raspberries and brie.
Bring the sides up and pinch all the seams together.
Bake in a 375F oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is a nice golden brown. Let cool for 1-2 minutes.
Each one offers a sweet or savory taste that is so good that you won’t want to share.
