The Boulangerie in my Kitchen

One of my favourite things to do with my daughter is take a short walk to our local boulangerie to pick up some fresh croissants.  There is just something so nice about a baked fresh Croissant.  Sadly they aren’t always available, and never chocolate filled, so what is a croissant lover to do when a mid day craving comes along and the kids are due home any minute so dashing out isn’t an option?  Pop some of the new Chocolate Crescents from Pillsbury in the oven of course.

As part of my Life Made Delicious partnership I was sent some coupons to try the new Pillsbury Chocolatey Crescents with my family (twist my rubber arm) and asked to let you all know what I think.  The verdict is in and Pillsbury Chocolatey Crescents are a hit with everyone in my house.  I surprised my kids with this extra special treat after school one day and the kids couldn’t get enough. I may have even helped myself to one or two. There was much finger licking and I even caught the wee one licking every last morsel off her plate.

The crescents are made with the same great pastry that they have always been, the secret to these crescents yum factor is in the sauce.  I was expecting the sauce to be either more like traditional icing or maybe even more of a syrup, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t quite either.  The chocolate has a richer, dark chocolate taste that goes really well with the salty-ness of the pastry dough.  They aren’t something I would eat all the time, but it is a nice treat and so very easy to whip up!

Pick up the new Pillsbury Chocolatey Crescents at your favourite grocery store right now and surprise your family with a sweet treat!
